Beautiful Vacation Stay

We’d visited the coastal redwoods of Felton, California for a few days in 2018 and fell in love with the mystical giant forest and the proximity to the Santa Cruz Pier & beaches. We’d also be closer to our friend Donna Martinez and her amazing vacation rentals on the coast at Sea Ranch.
While we absolutely loved the community, the vibe and the gargantuan redwoods, unfortunately, anything in California, especially Northern California was way beyond what we could afford. According to Zillow, a 600 sq ft, ramshackle fixer (more accurately a tear-down) would have run well over $850,000 and you and your family surely wouldn’t have had the private spaces for solitude, nor the gathering areas where you’ll thoroughly enjoy one another!
We isolated in place for 3 1/2 months in Pine. Unlike people in the Valley, we could venture out to the Tonto National Forest, never seeing another soul. We met dozens of Elk, deer, javelina and coyotes. But no people.
It was during these hikes that we realized our desire to share this beauty and solitude with our friends, family and other families who would appreciate the beauty and togetherness that Pine & Strawberry inspire!
I traveled 20 days a month as an Education Consultant until the Pandemic of 2020 eliminated my position. Staying in hundreds of hotels across the US & Europe and being away from home is rarely “accommodating.”
But traveling so much, you become acutely aware of small things hosts (and great Hotel establishments) provide that make a difference for your time on the road. I’ve tried to incorporate many of those little touches within Rustic Luxury Cabins. Simple little things like including phone adapters on your bedside tables, so you don’t have to crawl around on the floor and move furniture.
If we can do something that remove anxiety while enhancing our guests experiences, then our guests can completely unwind and enjoy their time together with loved ones.
